Muscle Aches - Part 3
Friday, February 1, 2008

31 January, Thursday

We had our PE lesson today. This meant that we had to do 3 sets of push-ups and sit-ups. Oh my gosh!!! Everyone was so restless but we still did what Mr Tom Chan said.

After jogging 5 rounds around the basketball court, netball court and field, we took our height and weight. Yes!!! I am 162 cm tall! =D

We started playing basketball. I felt that it was a little boring as Regena and the others were not in my team. Mr Tom Chan split us up into different groups. =(

Hope that my muscle aches will recover by Friday!!!

Muscle Aches - Part 2

30 January, Wednesday

My muscles had already started aching since Tuesday! But I realised that I wasn't as bad as my friends. They couldn't even bend their knees! Compared to them, my muscle aches were nothing! I could bend my knees (although they were a little pain), run and jump.

We started jogging around the field again and started doing shuttle runs. After completing the shuttle runs, we did the bending and the jumping. Then, a new activity was carried out. We were supposed to take a small medicine ball and throw to each other using the right techniques.

When one of the seniors threw the ball to me, I used the wrong method to receive the ball. Thus, the small little 2 kg medicine ball happily bumped a small part of my face. Ouch! It hurt the place between my nose and my lips. Congrats to me! =P

I rubbed my injury a little and continued with the game. We did this until all of us got bored. Then, it came the part that I was lousiest in - locking my fingers together, bending my knees, raising my arms at 80 degrees and hitting the ball without swinging my arms.

When it was time to go home, Atiqah and I was Regena and Shafa. We started playing basketball with my volleyball seniors for less than 30 minutes before going home.

Muscle Aches - Part 1

28 January, Monday

Whoa! On Monday, we had our volleyball induction. The volleyball induction was so short! But we had our volleyball training for the first time in BPGHS!!! It was so tiring...

It was a torturing time for my friends and me. We did stretching exercises called 'pao qiu' and I guess I used the wrong part of my hand to hit the ball. My hand is full of bruises thanks to my stupidity... -.-"'

After that, we had to jog 4 rounds around the school field without stopping. We did shuttle runs and learnt an exercise that was rather tricky. We had to bend our legs as much as possible and jump to either the right or the left with large steps.

Then, we went to the net. We bent as low as we could and jumped as high as possible with our hands above the net. Lining up in a row, we took turns to bend, jump and take 1 large step, still bending. Bend, jump and take 1 large step again until our coach told us to gather.

Before leaving, we had the last torturous activity. We had to do 3 sets of "hao peng you"!!! For your info, 1 set of "hao peng you" consists of 20 times of bending of the knees while locking our arms together on each other's shoulder and shouting the number of times we had bent down.

When we did 2 sets of "hao peng you", our coach thought that we had not done any sets yet, thanks to our shouting that was too soft for him to hear. Fortunately, he just told us to continue with our third set but this time, shouting even louder than the previous 2. Whoa! Every girl was so enthu! We started shouting until 11th or 13th round...

Some of the girls could not endure much longer and we had to take a few seconds of break. Haiz... The coach saw us stopping and told us that we had to do our last set without stopping. Therefore, he said that we should repeat the last set over again. DISASTER!!!

The few girls who stopped were already having muscle cramps!!! No choice, we had to withstand the aching of the muscles. Phew! I endured the 3-4 sets of "hao peng you"!!!

Finally, we did a cheer and went home!

Building Up My Stamina
Sunday, January 27, 2008

At around 8.30 a.m., my father and I went to jog at the park. Phew! It was tiring! My father was pushing me to jog 5 rounds(there are slopes, so it makes the jogging more tedious). Suddenly, I saw my brother jogging right beside us. It was not long that he overtook us(he jogs much faster than Regena, so imagine the speed he's going).

When my father and I finished exercising, I saw my brother again. He came to find us and we started doing some stretching before going home. My brother was sweating like he was just drenched in the rain(he ran 9 huge rounds around almost the whole park, not only around the tracks). He started doing push-ups and told me which type of push-ups trained which part of the arm.

While doing some stretching exercises, I saw a father who was circuit training his two young sons. Whoosh! I'm so impressed by him! He was running behind his sons to make sure that they did not slack. He was so fit! This was my first time looking at a father training his sons at such a young age! I guess they will be Singapore's future athletes!

Fretting - CCAs in BPGHS!!!
Saturday, January 26, 2008

Haiz... There are so little CCAs for me to choose, which one should I choose?
a) Sports and games
b) Clubs and societies
c) Performing arts
d) Uniformed groups

What about narrowing the choice to a? Sports and games!!! ARGH!!! Gave me so much probs! Should I choose netball or volleyball? Netball bahs, who knows I last minute got short-listed by one of the teachers but didnt enter. I entered volleyball and was feeling so down...

Adding to the problem, they showed the CCA timetable and for volleyball, the training was 4 days a week. Can you believe that?!?!?! I live far away from my school and I am supposed to balance my academic results and CCA. How am I able to stay back in school until 6.30pm almost every single day?!?!

My father had no choice but to type a letter to Mr Tom Chan, my dearest PE teacher. Luckily, he told me that the training was only 2 days per week. Only during holidays will the amount of training increase. Phew~! How relieved I was to hear him mention that!

I hope my CCA will be fun and make me as fit as possible!^_^

Taking One Step Closer...
Saturday, December 15, 2007

I had sat for my first major examination and achieved satisfactory results. Though I did not manage to obtain my desired aggregate of 256, I guess I should just be contented with what I scored. Passing a major examination with a modest score is really a great sigh of relief.

Awaiting my posting day is another heart-throbbing moment, still highly uncertain of the outcome. Definitely, I wish to enter my choice of school which is......Bukit Panjang Government High!!! =)

Come to think of taking one step forward certainly gives me a sense of excitement, yet at the same time, it's nerve-wrecking while thinking of the future.

Secondary school is just a few weeks away and there will be a higher standard of teaching. Preparing for harder subjects are really troublesome. there will be one! Haha, but my sis is not always available to teach me, that's sad... -.- I guess I will have to work harder to understand all the workings and tactics to get the answers by myself, leaving the tricky ones for my sis, hehe! =P
Asking everyone around me whether they can recommend some good assessment books and taking time out to buy them back.

I really hope there will always be a helping hand to guide me toward my future, which I think

I will miss my primary school life but I will still welcome my secondary school life with open hands!!!
